A Purrrr-fect Teacher Valentine

Hi my crafty pals, I am so glad you stopped in today!! I have a Purrr-fect teacher Valentine to share with you all.. My son's school isn't allowing us to bring food or candy for the kid's on Valentine's Day.. Well, I thought it won't be far to the kids if their teacher got some candy treats.. So, I decided to create some fun heart shaped hand warmers and a cute gift bag.. I got the hand warmer idea from a Joann's email you got a little while ago.. I love how these turned out and I now I think I need a pair for myself :0)

Instructions:
1) Fold Felt in half and trace heart shape onto the felt (1 sheet makes 4 hearts)
2) Cut hearts out
3) Sew around edge of the hearts but leave a little opening for filling
4) Fill hearts with rice and sew your small opening closed
5) Print or hand write a tag saying "Heat in microwave for 45 seconds.  Place in your pockets
to keep your hands warm"

{My little leopard turned out way better then I had originally visioned}

{Yes, I had to give this little cutie some wobble action, lol}

Supplies for the gift bag..

*Create a Critter (Cat & Heart Balloon)
*Secret Crush paper collection (Pink Paislee)
*Pick Licorice (Trendy Twine)
*Copic Markers
*White Gelly Pen
*Ink
*Action Wobble
*Small Kraft Gift Bag

Thanks so much for stopping by today..

  1. What a sweet gift! I've never heard of using rice as a filling for hand warmers. I'm curious, did you test it to see if it works? You did a great job!

  3. These are super cute! So sweet of you to do something for the kids...
    I make "Mufflettes" well that's what I call them. They're actually fingerless gloves, but so super easy. You did an amazing thing for the kids...good job!
    Take care!

  22. Those hand warmers are totally adorable! I have been looking for more quick sewing projects for gifts, especially those that don't use a ton of fabric so I can use scraps. I think this idea is perfect and I'm glad you shared it. I totally love what you did to create your leopard. Totally fun :)
